How did I come up with this nick Jarhad Idanno?
It was in Sec 1 when I first started mudding that I had to come up with a good name for a character, rather than lame names (especially those that consisted of a combination of two or more words).
I found a name generator and I went for a name starting with J. Don't ask me why, but I just wanted a J name. I had a few options, but Jahad seemed the most appealing to me (fyi, it is the name of a character in the game Shining Force). However this name was considered quite common, but I wanted something unique, something no one else will ever use, so I tweaked it a little and added the r in.
Coincidentally, I found out later that this name is quite similar to Jarhead, what they call US Marines. Thus I thought maybe it sounds quite garang. Few years later came the terrorist cases and the word jihad surfaced. But just to clear the air I have no Muslim connections.
Anyway, some muds needed a last name, and I didn't want to rack my brains too hard. I thought heck, I don't know. Hey! I dunno sounds cool. Thus I changed the spelling a little and it became Idanno. Lame but simple.
Ultimately, I coined the name Jarhad Idanno myself. Any similarities to anything or anyone else is purely coincidental and unintended.
